And the lovely little shop we will be holding it in. This place used to be a traditional letterpress printers up until less then a year ago so there couldn't be a more poetic place to hold our exhibition. I should stress that it isn't just us exhibiting there- there will be around 10 designers and illustrators on show in total.

To launch P.S Graphic design studios we will be holding an exhibition from the 16th of October. Exhibitions are surprisingly expensive so partly to raise money for printing and opening night booze and partly just because it's very fun we will be holding a club night, all proceeds to 'From Bloomsbury to Bennington' graphic design and illustration exhibition.

Token Gestures

It’s nice to be nice but now a days we are all so busy that some times we little reminder how rewarding nice little gestures are.

I initially designed a pocket sized booklet of compliment tokens to hand out to people with the idea that they are transferable so that once you give one out you start a chain reaction. I then went on to make a booklet of smiles as a smile is so contagious.

These tokens can be given to people you know or strangers as an ice breaker or even an anonymous gesture.

Make up makes you manly!

Make up for men. Each piece of packaging has a non gender specific face which is turned into a man by the relevent make up applicator. The place the make up is applied is highlighted with the colour of the make up to make it easy to navigate in a shop. When put in a point of sale they look like a little army.

Natural Navigation

It is not often that we get lost now a days what with sat nav and i phones but would you know what to look for if you were lost with out any tools? no, neither would i. so i designed a little pocket sized 'map' that would be a quick reference guide to natural way finding both in day and night.
I hope to take this further by using this guide to investigating into natural way finding in an urban environment. More to follow...

Time Wasting

This piece is a collection of the best drawings of clocks and watches over a year. I decided to turn them into a colouring in book so that people could design their own watch and would be observing the beauty in the design of time pieces. The book is printed onto thick paper so that you can use felt tip pens with out ruining the pictures on the other side and is binded by stitching to give it a longer life. Dedicated to my Grandad Ken who had a life long fascination with time pieces and there mechanisms, one of the few people who could fix any watch you gave him.

This is how my anti- internet campaign looks finished. The idea is that you take two weeks offline and reconnect with the world around you.
To do this you order your new free lap top from a website which is a small moleskine sized book. Each page has a different web site which you might find hard to live without and when you fold out the keyboard it offers you a real life equivalent with space to keep note of what you have been up too. There are also 15 blank pages to keep a journal over the 2 weeks.
I have kept the book very simple with a lot of white space and low transparency images and text so that you can scribble all over it and make it your own. I also developed banners to wrap around products in shops to advertise the campaign and remind people that these real life alternatives still exist.
